Parents, We Need YOUR Input!
The Charleston County School District is embarking on a journey of continued excellence with 'Charleston Achieving Excellence: Vision 2016'.  As a school district, we want to be recognized as a great place for students to learn, teachers to teach, employees to work, and parents to send their children for an excellent education.  In order to be successful, we need your help; we want and need to hear from you. Please take a few minutes and complete the parent satisfaction survey found at this link http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Charleston_Parent_052012 It will take about 10 minutes to complete the survey.  In addition, this survey is being administered and analyzed by an outside group - Studer Education so all your comments will remain confidential.  Thank you for taking your time to help us make the experience of every student in our school better.

Come One, Come All, to Laing's Got Talent!
Come to the Laing Talent Show on Monday, May 14th at 7:00 to see the singing, dancing and musical stylings of our fabulous students!

Thanks to everyone who came to the Superintendent's Cup!
It was a fun morning and our team had a blast.  We look forward to seeing you all next year!

Laing students are eating their fruits and vegetables, but this time on their own terms!

During the week of April 23-27, the Laing Cafeteria served free samples of different fruits and vegetables every day for students to devour as a healthy addition to their lunches.  The offerings were:Asparagus, Red Beets, Blueberries, Eggplant, Kale, Kiwi, Baby Spinach, Mango, Papaya, “UGLI” Fruit. There were only two guarantees from this menu:  Students would love at least one item and hate at least one item from the list.  The only way they got to find out how they all tasted was to sample each choice! What’s even better is that while our students got to take their own personal taste discovery tour, they were also eating food that improved their health.  The only downside is that we only got to do this for one week!  If you enjoyed getting the chance to try different foods that improved your quality of life (and were either a pleasure or challenge to eat), then let us know so that we can try to do this more often!
