STEM
Makerspace/Workshop

Makerspace:  Laing Middle School’s Makerspace is a hands-on, creative space where students can explore, experiment, and bring their ideas to life. It’s a place to get innovative, think outside the box, and dive into exciting STEM projects. With teacher-guided activities, students blend science, technology, engineering, and math into their creations, building problem-solving skills while having fun and collaborating with their peers.

Workshop -  The Laing Workshop is a space where students can bring their ideas to life by creating, building, and coding independently. Whether it’s recess or lunch, they can use their free time to tinker, experiment, and turn their imagination into reality. It’s a place to explore, problem-solve, and make something truly their own.

Clubs

When students get involved in clubs it allows them to be a part of a smaller group with many of the same interest as they have. We offer a wide variety of clubs. Check out all that are available

Guidance Programs

Our Guidance Department offers many programs for our students.

The Lunch and Learn Program has volunteers of many different professions come and speak to the students that are interested in that program.

Guys in Ties is a program where our "gentlemen" dress in nice attire and have lunch with different speakers from the community who can share their experiences.

The Kindness Club comes up with ways to spread kindness through out the school with special days and activities.

Yoga class is offered throughout the year. Participants chose to take this rather than recess.

PBIS awards are when students are recognized for showing a specific trait that month that might sometimes go unnoticed.

Mentor Program where mentors from the community come and meet with children monthly.
