Todd Kaplan- Assistant Principal 8th grade

Greetings Braves families and students!  I will be serving as the seventh grade Assistant Principal this year.  For the past six years I served as an Assistant Principal at Wando High School.  Prior to moving to the Charleston area seven years ago, I spent ten years as a middle school social studies teacher and two years as a middle school Assistant Principal.  I have one son who will be a third grader at Pinckney Elementary School this year and I am excited to embark on my new journey here at Laing.  I strongly believe that in my capacity as an Assistant Principal all of my work and decisions focus around one factor; what is in the best interest of the students entrusted to us every day.  I look forward to supporting a wonderful faculty and support staff to ensure they may focus on maximizing growth and learning in the classroom in order to prepare our students for their high school experience and beyond.  It is my primary goal to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.  I am honored to have the opportunity to work at such a wonderful school and excited for a strong and productive school year ahead.
