I have had the honor of being a member of the Laing Middle School community since 2015. During my time here, I have served as a teacher, Instructional Coach, and this year, Assistant Principal. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Grades Education, a Master’s in Teaching and Learning, and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership. Each of these roles has given me the opportunity to grow alongside our students, teachers, and families, and I am excited to continue serving the Laing community in new ways this year.

Laing is especially meaningful to my family because my husband and I have two adult sons who both attended middle school here. We have the fondest memories of their time here. Outside of school, I enjoy international travel, reading, and baking. I am grateful for the relationships and experiences that have shaped my time at Laing and look forward to another great year with our students and families!

I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal for sixth grade this school year. Prior to joining the Laing community, I spent six years as an Assistant Principal at Wando High School. Before moving to the Charleston area nine years ago, I dedicated ten years to teaching middle school social studies and served two years as a middle school Assistant Principal.

I am also a proud parent—my son will be a fifth grader at Pinckney Elementary this year. I am excited to continue supporting the great work happening here at Laing.

In my role as Assistant Principal, every decision I make is guided by a single priority: doing what is in the best interest of the students entrusted to us each day. I am committed to supporting our outstanding faculty and staff so they can focus on maximizing growth and learning in every classroom. Together, we will prepare our students for high school and beyond.

Building strong relationships with students, families, and staff is my top priority. I look forward to a positive, productive school year and am truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a special school community.
