Wando Dance Program Placement Auditions
Good afternoon,
I will be holding placement auditions for any current 8th graders who are registering for dance at Wando High School next year and already have significant dance experience. By default, all dance students new to Wando typically get placed in Dance 1; however, because many students often come in with years of outside dance experience, placement into a higher level is sometimes optimal. If you have any students who fit this criteria, then please provide me with their name and pass along the following information:
What: Dance Placement Auditions
For Who: Any 8th grader registering for dance at Wando High School for the 2025-2026 school year that has significant previous dance experience (3+ years). **Please note, any student who is new to dance or has had fewer than 3 years of dance experience will not be considered for higher than Dance 1 and should not audition.**
When: Wednesday, March 5, 2025
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Where: Wando Dance Studio (G-103 by the gyms)
Come dressed in dance attire and bring a water bottle.
We will warm up, move through several progressions, learn a brief combo, and perform it in small groups.
I will email recommendations for placement back to you within one week of auditions.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to ashlyn_black@charleston.k12.sc.us
Students Attending a Non CCSD High School will need to complete a withdrawal form with the withdrawal date being 5/29/25. Please complete the form and return it to Ms. Seabrook to ensure all records are transferred properly. Her email address is annette_seabrook@charleston.k12.sc.us.
